Undertraining - Doing too few sets or not hitting a body part often enough.

Underwater Weighing - Also know as hydrostatic weighting, it is a method of determining body composition based on the assertion that the density of fat mass and fat-free mass are constant, lean tissue such as bone and muscle are more dense than water, and fat tissue is less dense than water. Therefore, a person with more body fat will weigh less underwater and be more buoyant. Someone with more muscle will weigh more underwater.

Unilateral Exercise - Exercises done on one side only, such as single leg squats or one arm dumbbell curls.

Universal Machine - One of several types of machines where weights are on a track or rails and are lifted by levers or pulleys.

Unsaturated fat - These are 'good' fats. They are called unsaturated because they have one or more open spots on their carbon skeletons. This category of fats includes the essential fatty acids linoleic and linolenic. The main sources of these fats are fromm plant foods, such as safflower, sunflower, arid flaxseed oils.

Upper Abs - Abbreviation for abdominal muscles above navel.

Urinalysis (UA) - Tests performed on urine to detect the use of steroids, drugs or other illegal substances.
