Muscles Diana Ross Song

I Want Muscles Diana Ross

In 1982 bodybuilding was becoming more mainstream, with Arnold Schwarzenegger starring in "Conan the Barbarian" and The Mr. Olympia contest on TV every year (that year it was won by Chris Dickerson).

Even more evidence showing how much the general public was getting turned on by bodybuilders, is that Diana Ross released a single called "Muscles" also known as "I want Muscles" in which she sings the praises of bodybuilders and talks about her desire for a muscle man of her own to love, as you can see from the following lyrics.

I don't care if he's young or old
(Just make him beautiful)
I just want some strong man
To hold on to

I want muscles
All, all over his body
(Make him strong enough)
(From his head down to his toes)

The song became a top ten hit which even further increased the popularity of bodybuilding.

Interestingly the song was actually written by the late Michael Jackson, and was supposedly inspired by his pet snake which was named "Muscles".

The music video of "I Want Muscles", shows Diana dreaming of muscle men, and co stars male fitness models and even top bodybuilder Mike Christian.
