Dorian Yates The Shadow Six Time Mr Olympia
Dorian Andrew Mientjez Yates was on born 19 April 1962 in Walmley, Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands, England. He started getting into pumping iron at an early age but only started competing later in life. Dorian ruled the bodybuilding world by winning Mr.Olympia six times in a row ending in 1997, which he won despite a torn bicep.Winning 15 major titles in his career he is considered to be one of the top bodybuilding athletes of all time. Dorian uses the HIT training method and believes strongly in short and high intensity workouts. In 1987 Yates purchased the Temple Gym which is in Birmingham UK.
Dorian also formed a partnership with the well-known Mike Mentzer calling the company Heavy Duty Incorporated marketing bodybuilding related books and some training equipment. The Temple Gym was so successful under his guidance that he franchised in 2006 and created four additional Temple Gyms.
Dorian earned the nickname "The Shadow" because he would often unexpectedly appear as a bodybuilder and win the competition. He got directly in marketing products to his growing fan base. He promoted products ranging from training apparatus to peptides and pre and post workout supplements.
Dorian has turned down quite a few large supplement endorsements, as it was his strategy when doing interviews, which he constantly avoided. He would rather select to do seminars and go on seminar tours both locally in his country as well as internationally in order to discuss nutrition and offer advice to his fans.
Over the years Dorian has developed some strange views about both cancer and politics. In a very rare interview done on TV Yates advocated the use of cannabis oil in the treatment of cancer and said some unusual things specifically about the use of sodium fluoride to clean public drinking water.
For example he said in the interview that he was completely convinced that the reason for the high cancer rate is because of the treated water that we drink. Saying that it is not just the sodium fluoride used to clean the water we drink but also cancer viruses and some sterilants in certain vaccines that are causing cancer.
Dorian Yates has produced and effectively marketed a book as well as a video, which he called Blood and Guts. He also co-authored "A warriors Story" where he talks about his path to bodybuilding success. His story attributes his success to training using the HIT principal.
