Robert Kennedy Bodybuilding Biography

Robert Kennedy MuscleMag International

Robert Kennedy was born on April 18, 1938 to an English woman and his father was an Austrian they were both teachers. He graduated from Culford School and then went on to study at Norwich University College of the Arts in Norfolk, England.

Robert then settled down to start teaching art at the Tottenham Technical College and then ten years later teaching in Canada in 1967 at the Brampton College in Ontario. It was during these years that he managed to start his first publication on nutrition bodybuilding courses.

The start of MuscleMag International was 1974 with the first print ever done being 110,000. There was no easy walk for Robert as he continued to produce works specifically for bodybuilders reaching the general public. One of his books was on the New York Times bestsellers with titles like Hardcore Bodybuilding, Savage Sets, Sliced, etc.

He eventually decided to become a book publisher himself, and created the Robert Kennedy Publishing Company which has now published hundreds of books. In 1976 Robert opened his first MuscleMag International shop, which later reached a total of 28 different shops throughout the country.

But that was not publishing which is what Robert Kennedy's passion was and in 1997 he eventually started Oxygen magazine, a magazine that was specifically targeted at female fitness. At the end of 2008 the publication was reaching over 200,000 people all over the world.

Robert had a tough life in publishing and although he declared bankruptcy he was still able to get out of that hole. But everything came to a crashing end when he was diagnosed with cancer in early 2011. His passion for the health and fitness industry was forced to take second place.

The cancer was a very aggressive lung cancer and his family tried everything from 5 000mg Vitamin C intravenously to eating a perfectly balanced diet it did not stop the disease. He died on April 12, 2012 in the beautiful Caledon Hills in Canada.
